While fleeing from an unfaithful fiance the day of her wedding, Kirsty met Simon MacNeill, who was on his way home to New Zealand because his sister was in hospital and needed him to help care for her children while their father was away on a job. Since he was also full time employed, he was looking for someone to help care for the children while he was working. Kirsty asked for the job and he agreed. From there, the usual mishaps and situations until Simon realized he loved her. Then a visitor to the village gave incorrect information about Kirsty fleeing from her wedding--something that wasn't known to him or to the village. Simon dropped her like a hot potato and Kirsty returned home. Simon follows, of course.
