Three years before Serenity Adams was elected sheriff of Blood Rock, she worked the beat in Indianapolis. Among her many arrests, she was instrumental in putting a deranged, yet highly intelligent, child killer behind bars. Now that the murderer has escaped prison, he has only one thing on his mind-to find the woman who captured him, and make her pay. For the first time ever, Serenity is the one being hunted, and everyone she holds dear is in grave danger in this heart pounding installment of Serenity's Plain Secrets.
I was a little hesitant about how a baby would change this series, but I feel it was handled well. A little over the top, but not too much. Contrary to what a lot of other reviewers thought, I found this one to be one of the better ones in this series. At least, for once, the crimes weren't being committed by Amish people. I like to think that most Amish communities are not as full of criminals as this series portrays them to be. I enjoyed the story and will travel on to the next in the series. I still prefer the Possum Gap series more, but Serenity has kind of grown on me.
