Historically Authentic & fascinating story of the Armenian struggle under the rule of the Ottoman

The story is based on the author's Grandmother's life and the stories she passed on to him as a child. She was Suzanne. Mr. Burbank did a wonderful job of turning a family story into an engrossing book. His characters are deep, their interaction with each other, very real, and the story itself both heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. This book is well worth the time and money--you won't regret the purchase!

Excellent Book

Burbank's close attention to the details of the landscape and the culture of this era was well researched and well written. The story has a good flow with no lulls in between chapters. You easily find yourself placed inside the life of this family and are transported to another time. The personalities and character profiles are clear and concise.I hope that the story is continued in a second novel about Suzanne.
