Below Zero

By Shigeru Brody

Something beneath the Arctic ice is hunting.

When three people vanish from Kestrel Inlet, search-and-rescue specialist Nora Vale leaves her vacation for a remote station trapped in polar night. The crew has found no bodies. Only broken ice, abandoned equipment, and reports of a blue light moving beneath the frozen sea.

Then Nora sees the light herself.

It circles below her feet. The ice begins to soften. Something huge rises from the black water.

A violent storm has cut off the station. The runway is failing. Every journey onto the ice gives the creature another chance to feed. With time and heat running out, Nora must learn how the predator hunts and find a way to kill it before the remaining crew disappears beneath the inlet.

In Kestrel Inlet, the darkness lasts for months.

The hunger has lasted much longer.
