Heavy-handed sloppy verging on campy

More than transparent patronizing and a ploy that should never come to the screen. This does not have any resemblance to the classic “Beauty and the Beast” nor the T.V. program. Only the title was used, as you can see, they never read the story. Basic story, inartistic youth (Alex Pettyfer) is cursed by a snubbed witch to look repulsive until someone tells him they love him. Naturally, he starts changing attitudes. He protects a girl (Vanessa Hudgens) from her rough life, and that adds to his recovery. I have a strange feeling that there will be a soundtrack.
