It was in the year 1885 when Martin Luther published the lyrics to AWAY IN A MANGER in a Lutheran Sunday School Book. Ten years later, in 1895, William J. Kirkpatrick added music to the lyrics to turn it into a song. And now, over one hundred years later, Thomas Kinkade has brought those words to life in the form of a beautifully illustrated picture board book, perfect for even the tiniest tot to enjoy. Within AWAY IN A MANGER, Kinkade uses his signature ability to capture the light in just about any situation, to bring the words of AWAY IN A MANGER to life. The illustrations work to show the little Lord Jesus, as he lays in a manger, hay surrounding him; but does an exquisite job to show families walking through snowy pathways, lights shining brightly, enjoying the spirit of the holidays. He even adds in a group of carolers singing at the door of a home, making the song ring out clearly in the mind of reader's. Kinkade has the ability to bring families together during the holidays. WELL DONE AND BEAUTIFUL WORK

The author has taken the words of A Way in a Manger and used them as the text for his work. This illustrations are absolutely wonderful...almost to the point that you would want a print of them to frame. This would be a wonderful christmas gift, one that could be used year round. Recommend this one highly.
