What I like about this reference is that the meat of the topic is up front in clear, concise language. I don't have to dig through a bunch of "I'm an expert" posturing to get to what I want to know. I learned a lot, fast. I do think her editor should have looked up the proper use of complementary/complimentary, however.

Excellent resource

I was introduced to this book when I learned web design, and I use it all the time. It presents basic concepts of art theory - color composition, line, shape, movement, etc. - in a clear way with the intended audience in mind. Any web designer should have a firm grasp on these principles, and I highly recommend this concise text for anyone who creates web pages.
