Aoi House...best new manga in a while...

Yaoi House, I mean, Aoi House, is one manga that is a must buy. I overlooked it at first when I initially discovered it. Mainly cos I foolishly thought it was a Love Hina rip off. Hah, don't be fooled! Love Hina has nothing on this series!!! Two otaku college guys get kicked out of their dorm and end up joinging the Aoi House. Aoi House by the way is a Yaoi fangirl dorm. You can see where this is going. Oh yeah, and it only gets better. Add the panty loving hamster Eichiboo and wow, you have yourself a HIT!!! My advice- BUY THIS BOOK! You will not regret it. I know I haven't! ^___^

AOI clubbin' we will go...

Alex and Sandy are two normal college students (in their minds, at least) who found themselves faced with a dilemma. After being thrown out of their dorms by Dean Perkins due to Sandy screening "La Blue Girl" in the student lounge, among other things, the dynamically screwed duo are forced to find new on-campus quarters by sundown. Seeing a poster for an anime club called "AOI House", Alex and Sandy took a chance and proceeded to the club. What they got was not what they expected; rather than a group of loser fanboys in their boxers inhabiting AOI House, they instead found a group of very attractive women lounging around in their lingere. What the girls got for club members was not what they expected either. After a series of comedic misunderstandings, the guys were admitted into the club and saved from almost certain homelessness. "AOI House" follows the members' very funny exploits as they interact with each other in some very strange activities. Each girl has their own agenda with the guys, a.k.a. their "yaoi pets" (yes, yaoi). But none of their antics will prepare you for the guy's first meeting with the founder of the club, Carlo, who's introduction is best described as... disturbingly funny. So if you're up for panty-thieving fun, then "AOI House" is right up your ally!

AOI House in Print!

AOI House by Adam Arnold and Shiei (Amazing Agent Luna) which started as Seven Seas Entertainment shonen harem web manga looks awesome in print. Following the misadventures of Sandy Grayson, Echiboo his hamster, Alexis (Alex) Roberts, and a house full of yaoi loving girls AOI House, is one of those series that is so full of laughs I didn't stop laughing until long after reading the last page. Starting when Sandy and Alex are being berated by the Dean of the university they attend (Mooreland (check name) State University) AOI House jumps right into humor, as through a combination misunderstandings and Echiboo being Echiboo, Sandy and Alex are forced out of their dorm room and into a new lodging on campus. Thinking they lucked out they see a flyer for an anime dorm "AOI House" which thrills Sandy. Following the flyer and going to the houses location they are shocked to find it full of girls, who make a great misunderstanding of Sandy and Alex's relationship. What shocks Sandy and Alex more though is learning that AOI House was once "Yaoi House" before the "y" fell off the sign. As they soon discover, each of the AOI House girls is crazier then the next. For example Morgan McKnight claims Alex as her "yaoi pet" when first seeing him and loves to raise sea monkeys in the bath tub. Elle Mathers, the rich president of AOI House is dead set against having two straight non yaoi loving males in AOI House. Jessica Kim, is nursing student whom Sandy takes an instant liking too. Nina Parker who doesn't seem to care two male roommates are now in AOI House with her and walks around as if it is still a house with only girls. Maria Ortega is very self-conscious of her rather large chest. Once these crazy girls learn that Sandy and Alex are not crazed yaoi fans and are two straight males, they seem to take it as their mission to turn these two new arrivals into yaoi lovers. If this is not enough trouble for Sandy and Alex, Echiboo, with his nasty tendency to escape his cage finds his way into the dresser of the one girl, Elle, in AOI House that doesn't want them there. However, thanks to a quark of fate from AOI House needing members there is not much she can do to throw them out. As the story progresses and the guys start to become more a part of daily AOI House life, the girls also start to accept them, though Elle is still trying to find a way to either kick them out or make them want to leave voluntarily which leads to a lot of great adventures including a classic ending to this first volume which has left me excitedly awaiting to see what will happen next in the adventures of Sandy, Alex, Echiboo and the girls of AOI House. Without hesitation I can say that AOI House Volume 1 is a manga not to be missed by anyone who loves manga or those just looking to enter the manga world. It is one that deserves a space on everyone's shelves.
