Previous research shows that serious and persistent criminal 'careers' in particular often have their origins in childhood. This study therefore examined the risk factors for antisocial behaviour in children, focusing in particular on the significance of processes of social inequality. The aim of the study was to identify ascriptive and cultural inequalities in the form of risks, and to examine specific interactions and the accumulation of significant risks. To this end, the study took into account the influences of gender, financial deprivation, migration background and incivilities, as well as the influences of media use, upbringing and structural family factors.
