I love a story with closure. I was afraid it was not going to come in this book, but thankfully it did. What an exciting read.
THE STOLEN BOOK OF EVELYN AUBREY by Serena Burdick Dual timeline narratives don’t always work (for me) as I almost always prefer one time period more than the other. This time, however, I was really invested in both Evelyn (1898) and Abigail’s (2003) storylines. Evelyn’s husband was awful, and I felt bad for her. Given the time period, his attitude and treatment of her was expected. Unfortunate, but not surprising. While I didn’t vibe with Abby as a character, I loved her journey to England and discovering her roots. Overall, a solid historical mystery to get lost in. The characters were believable, the mystery kept my interest, the ending was satisfying even with some loose threads. Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️
