He's a man whose roots reach as solidly into the earth as the alfalfa he grows on his family's 150-year-old dairy farm. She's an author and photographer of documentary books, a job that keeps her constantly on the move, a more pleasant extension of her childhood spent shuttling from foster home to foster home. Rik Magnusson and Annie Beckett couldn't have less in common when Annie descends on Rik's Black Hollow Farm in pursuit of a mystery--the disappearance of a young infantry army officer during the little-known Black Hawk War of 1832--that is the subject of her new book. Rik and Annie are not prepared for the heated attraction between them, but shared sunrises and steamy nights go a long way toward healing old hurts (Annie's painful orphan status and Rik's betrayal by his former wife and separation from his beloved daughter). These "chance met strangers" find what they never knew they were looking for in each other, as Annie discovers her home in Rik's warm embrace and Rik captures another chance at love. Michelle Jerott, author of Absolute Trouble, creates a heartwarming love story readers can't put down, even if it means staying up All Night Long. --Alison Trinkle This description may be from another edition of this product.
All Night Long is one heart-thumping, passionate read! It is definitely not for the faint of heart. Nor is ANL the type of book for those that are offended by straight forward talk about sex and the feelings that arise from wanting someone in a goooooood kind of way. Ms. Jerott delivers characters that are able to stand on their own, and offers supporting characters that don't get in the way of the story but instead add to it's spice and build. Annie and Rik are HOT! The feelings that the writer shows them expressing for one another are right on the money. There is nothing watered down here. It is exciting to know the thoughts that go through the mind of a man like Rik, whether about Annie's clothing, her perfume, her movements... It allows the readers to do a little experimenting of their own to see what kind of reaction will be gained. Men may be from Mars, but Ms. Jerott shows us what our actions really do to them!
I loved Rik and Annie's story. Not only was the romance as intense as can be, there was a true feeling of reality with this book, unlike so many contemporary romances today. I could relate to this hero and heroine as if they were people I really knew. From the moment they meet the chemistry between them is tangible to the reader, and I was drawn in at once. I felt as if I were there in the story with them, through the ups and downs, and to the touching ending. The secondary element in the book is exceptionally well done and equally intriguing. The letters from Lewis to his sweetheart and mother are so well-written I had wondered for a time if they were authentic. Ms. Jerott's prose is masterful, her dialogue superb, and the sensuality top-notch. This is a book for the masses. Enjoy!
I really enjoyed reading this book. I got hooked on Michelle Jerott after reading Absolute Trouble. The two main characters are well developed and realistic. I do have to agree with some of the other reeaders the secondary characters are not well developed, but that doesn't take anything away from the storyline bewteen Annie and Rik. I also enjoyed the story about Lewis Hudson. Also this was such a refreshing book, i didn't have to read about any tall dark handsome/ rich hero. I am looking forward to this authors next book.
Only better! Contemp romance fans will swoon for this farm boy. Rik is a wonderful, realistic hero, a man of few words, but his brand of sexy stubborness will steal your heart. Annie is the saavy, strong, in-control kind of heroine more romances need. Jerott blends these two wonderful characters with a dash of suspense, and a wonderful mystery. Don't miss ANL, and if you didn't catch Absolute Trouble, grab it, too.
