All Kinds of Minds was inspired by the many clients I have had the privilege of working with over the past few years. Every day I learn so much from them. I have provided therapy in homes, in clinics, and in schools. My clients vary greatly in age, culture, needs, abilities, behaviors, and so much more. I intended for this book to be suitable for all ages, with a goal of bringing awareness and acceptance to neurodiversity. Most of my illustrations were inspired by and are dedicated to my clients, both past and present. I hope they enjoy this. Though my days as an RBT are not as short, simple, and sweet as the pages in this book, I wanted to share a little bit of the ups and downs throughout the day. I also wanted to express how amazing each of my clients are. Every human has their own personality, skills, abilities, hobbies, interests. I am honored to be a part of their growth and development, so I wrote about all the "little things" in this book. To parents, educators, therapists, caretakers: There are all kinds of minds, and if they are not learning the way we teach, we teach the way they learn.
