Soul mates forever...

This was my second Kim Louise book and so far, my favorite. Trying to put her life back on track after a disastrous relationship, Sonji Stephens returns to college after 15 years of being in the workforce. She's determined to go pursue her degree and protect her heart from the opposite sex. Yet, she finds the latter, easier said than done. She's on her way to keeping her focus until she hears about the English professor from hell. Grayson Gilmore has the reputation for being one of the toughest professors on campus and is all business. However, Sonji wasn't prepared for the tyrant to be a gorgeous hunk of masculinity. Although an excellent teacher, Grayson is a tortured soul plagued with guilt, grief and insurmountable loss. When Sonji enters his class, he suddenly begins to have hope -- that with her -- he can rejoin the living and recapture love. I loved these two together! The way they REALLY come together is reminisce of the movie "You've Got Mail." However, it was done on the spiritual, Egyptian/African tip. Their passion, love and humor leapt off the pages. It was so wonderful, it made me weep. I also enjoyed the secondary characters. This is a definite reread for me. Excellent book!

**Sigh** Just beautiful!!!

Why did I find it so difficult to put this book down? Because it was...of the CHAIN!! I would recommend this book for all who are insightful or for those who are in search of a good read. A Touch Away engulfs its audience into the lives of Sonji & Grayson and refuses to let go untill the very end (which has a little suprise in its own). You would think that a 19 year old college student wouldn't have time to do any "extra" reading but this book is SOOO good that you will find yourself MAKING time to read it...it's that good!!!!! Bravo Ms. Kim Louise!!!

True Love Can Be Just a Dot.com Away

Kim Louise's second novel 'A Touch Away' is a good read. Sonji Stevens has waited 15 long years to return to college to get her degree. She knew that returning to school at such a late age might bring headaches and obstacles. But she never expected that one seemingly immovable obstacle would be her tough take no prisoners English professor. Sonji panics when she finds out that she cannot get out of the professors class, but she is determined not to let this set her back. Handsome professor Grayson Gilmore is aware of the names his students call him behind his back. He is a tough task master who does not tolerate coming to class late or handing in work less than he believes his students are capable of.Sonji's new found friends, Andromeda (called Andi) and Sebastian are the ones who alerted Sonji of the infamous Professor Gilmore or "PG", i.e, 'pretty God-awful', as he is sometimes called. Andi proves to be a good friend as she helps Sonji get through the process of late registration and settling in to college life. When Andi finds out that Sonji has no one special in her life she sets out to fix that too. At Andi's urging Sonji signs up for e-mail at 'BlackLuv.com.' "BlackLuv is'true love." Thus starts her adventure with her unseen soulmate 'Osiris' who only knows Sonji as ' Nzinga.' Life is not easy at school. Sonji's fellow student and friend wants to be more than just a friend. She gets guidance from Osiris for an assignment and the professor accuses her of cheating. Unhappy students accuse Professor Gilmore of racism. Is is possible to betray an invisible dot.com lover? Osiris may be her soulmate but Sonji is not immune to Professor Gilmore good looks and hot stares. Ms. Louis has done it again. 'A Touch Away' has believable twists. I read this novel in one evening because held my attention 100%. Vannie(~.~)

GREAT BOOK

THIS BOOK WAS SOOOO GOOD I LIKE THE FACT THEY DID NOT PLAY AROUND AND WERE VERY FORWARD WITH THEIR FEELINGS.THE WAY THEY MET WAS GREAT FOR THIS DAY AND AGE.LOVE IT FROM BEGGINING TO END.

More than a Learning Experience.......

Move over Rochelle, Brenda, and Deirdre because Kim Louise makes her characters sizzle to a slow burn. If you like Destiny's Song then A Touch Away will not leave you disappointed. Sonji Stephens had a wake up call after a relationship gone way wrong brought her full circle into pursuing her dream of a college degree. She was not prepared for the soOO-soOO fine professor that could not only stop your breath with his sex appeal but make you hold your breath waiting for your grade with his tough as nails style. Grayson Gilmore Ph.D bourgeois attitude did not give truth to the man underneath, a man hidden by years of unbearable pain, guilt, and unforgiveness. Meeting Andi and Sebastian was a major find for Sonji, the young couple helped her get readjusted to college life and offered her friendship. With Andi's insistence Sonji was introduced to a website that not only offered free e-mail but proved to be a new beginning for both her and Grayson. When Sonji first walked into Gray's class late, neither could predict the importance they would play in one anothers lives, although they both felt an undeniable attraction. Sonji's presence in Gray's life ignited the spark for his return from the nightmares and demons that possessed his dreams and soul. Gray's presence in Sonji's life forced her to face her fear of failure, together they found closure and lasting love.Grandmother Zinga's memory might prove other interesting disclosures for Gray and his brother Kyle. Possibly allowing another visit with the Gilmore family, I especially like Kyle's wife Jerika, their story would be interesting. Andi and Sebastian are definitely characters that deserve their own story. Bryon deserves someone special too. Great book, I will add this to my list of re-reads.
