Very, Very Good Reference

This text is the best indtroduction to the history of sociological theory that I have come across. Like Marvin Harris's "Rise of Anthropological Theory," this book starts with the precursors to "proper" sociological thinkers, and carries the analysis all the way through to modern thinkers. This book will be the standard one day, but even if it's not, it is still indispensible for ant social science student.
