Opens Mind and Heart

I wish that I could purchase enormous quantities and place in the hands of many people. It represents many of us who have gone through the trials and retribution of crossing the line and dating interracially. It debunks all of the classic stereotypes that many perceive when one embarks on such a journey. Laurence Cook truly hits cords that many will think but rarely speak of, he could open the eyes of many if they were to open the pages.

Love knows no color

Laurence's book is amazing. "A Choice to Yield" is very much like "Good Guys Finish Last," since I could not put it down once I began reading. His descriptions of the settings made me feel as if I were sitting in the bookstore, coffee shop, etc., observing the action. There are many characters in his book; however, there are not so many that the storyline becomes confusing to follow. Angela's character is very strong and he develops her well as the book progresses. There are always two sides to every story and Laurence uses Margo's explanations later in the book to balance out the other side of the story Angela always mentions. Laurence is well traveled and his experiences shine within the pages, making the book even more realistic. I look forward to reading more from this new writer in the future.

Captivating

The author does an EXCELLENT job of capturing the reader and pulling them in to the character's lives. He keeps you not only interested, but wanting more. The subject of an inter-racial relationship, a controversial one in our society today, was approached and tackled very eloquently and was executed victoriously! Laurence is a fantastic writer, and he does a wonderful job in describing places, things, tastes, and features. He paints a picture with his words, so that you can visualize what is being described in the book. I can not wait for this author's next masterpiece!
