The story unfolds on a vast, grey sea. Xiaoshan and Xiaoyun are best friends--Xiaoshan chases away Xiaoyun's fears, and Xiaoyun sings gentle songs to comfort the sad Xiaoshan. They are inseparable, protecting each other in the world of rolling waves, content as long as the other is there. However, a sudden hurricane shatters this peace: Xiaoyun is swept away by the storm, and Xiaoshan, clinging tightly, cannot hold on. After the storm subsides, only Xiaoshan and Xiaoyun remain, alone on the other side of the sea. During their separation, Xiaoshan is lonely without friends, and Xiaoyun is fearful and lost without protection.
