Hispanic

Commonalities among the books on Hispanic include coming-of-age stories, exploration of identity and culture, and themes of family, love, and struggle. Many of the books feature characters who are Mexican-American or Puerto Rican, and some explore historical events such as the Mexican Revolution or the dictatorship in the Dominican Republic. Magical realism is also a recurring element in some of the novels. Additionally, there are several collections of short stories that focus on the lives of Hispanic women in various locations throughout the US.
