In "Zippers", a young ostracized scientist and his fellow researcher discover a major breakthrough which turn out to be historical leaps for cognitive capabilities within the battlegrounds of severe cases of autism. When his cat "accidentally on purpose" laps up some of this miracle elixir, all hell breaks loose as the male feline is now able to communicate with human beings verbally. Soon a famous western lowland gorilla is given the medicine, then a bonobo ape is coerced into the politics between the scientist and his former place of employment. The world is turned upside down with literal talking animals: corporate wars are waged, friendships are shattered and the media unleashes a public discourse that has only skimmed the surface of what is rapidly destroying and reshaping preconceived notions of science, religion and animal rights. The miracle has not only changed the course of a cat's life, it's changed the course of how we treat every other species on the planet from that moment onward.
