Alexandre-Philippe R?gnier, Marquis of Massa (1831in Paris 2 nd - 1910), is an officer of cavalry and author of theatrical entertainment. He served in the Imperial Guards and took part in the Italian and Franco-German Wars. One of his best-known plays is The Commentaries of Caesar (1865). The Acad?mie fran?aise awarded him the Prix de Jouy in 1893 for Zibeline, brilliant romance (1892). In 1906, the Marquis de Massa was elected to the presidency of two of the most prestigious circles in Paris: the Cercle de la Rue Royale and the Cercle de l'Union, also known as l'Epatant. He accepted the second.
