Zero Prep Workshop with Laurel Pollard

I just attended a workshop based on the book Zero Prep last night. The workshop was presented by Laurel Pollard, one of the authors of Zero Prep. She demonstrated several of the techniques in the book. I tried two of them today in my class and they worked like a charm. This is an excellent resource for stressed out teachers!

This is a must for ESL teachers.

I tell other ESL teachers they HAVE TO get _Zero Prep_. Using this book has cut down my prep time drastically -- I no longer spend hours making up worksheets that can only be used once. The activities are the kind that get the students actively doing things and taking initiative. I appreciate the fact that all the activities have been tried in real life and found successful. There are a few (like the acting-out dictacomp) that I come back to over and over.My only problem (and it IS mine) is that the book is geared more to large single-level classes than my little multi-level community center group. However, the majority of the activities are adaptable to my class.This is a real find.
