Zen for the western mind

I'm writing the short version of my review here. This is THE BEST book on Zen I've read, straight up and to the point. I bought this book in Chinatown, Chicago and read it for a year! Before you think I'm a slow reader, let me tell you, I read 5 books a week. This is not a generic explanation, Mr Low explains Zen so perfectly, with many examples out of the bible and illustrations from western culture. I feel he truly understands the Sutras and practices what he preaches. This is the truth. Zen isn't for everybody. If you're sensitive and need a "keep hope alive" book, go get that elsewhere. When you're ready for Zen, you won't need that kind of "motivational" nonsense, you'll be prepared to deal with life without a coach. For the independent thinker, the intellectual, the spiritual and the curious. You're in capable hands with this one. Bless
