In the 1970's things were just like you might imagine. There is a guy, in the imaginary memory one creates, playing an acoustic guitar. Barefoot children run around while clouds of smoke disappear over their heads, followed by the tell-tale laughter only a good buzz can generate. This is the beginning of where the yellow daisies grow. Mother and daughter team up in this autobiographical novel to describe the challenges and triumphs of overcoming the decade long obstacle course that divided them, and eventually, brought them back together.
