A great read

I've seen the online web series and this trade paperback is a great addition to that.The story is interesting and has some good jokes in it. The art covers that are collected in the back are really nice looking as well. If you dug the web series (sorry couldn't resist) you should check this out.

Reanimated Xombies

A very fun read. Well worth the money for the fans of the online cartoon.

I just put this book down, and I picked it back up again. That doesn't happen too often. The combination of wit, gore, and existential angst makes this comic a very interesting read. For Xombie fans, it has a couple of unexpected bits, and for those who don't know about Xombie, well, you won't miss much by starting here, but you might want to start at the start with either Xombie: Dead on Arrival or the online flash cartoons. I came across Xombie, of all places, in a book store where I found Xombie: Dead on Arrival in the Comics section. I thought that the idea was so cool that I had to have the book. And it's good, but I recommend starting with the online flash cartoons, because the DOA novel coincided pretty closely with that. This comic is different. It picks up Dirge, Zoe, Nepthys and gang after the DOA story line. As with all things that end up switching media, I was a little worried, but there was no need to worry. It lives up to every expectation and then some. Xombie is made for pictoral narration. It just is. If the idea of a sentient Xombie with an Excaliber-like shovel and a xombified police dog sounds as appealing to you as it did to me, then, there is no way you can go wrong with this trade paperback. I can't wait for more Dirge.
