What a Great Blaze

This is my first Cathy Yardley book and I really enjoyed it. The story is about a feisty PR, Jade, who battles with the CEO of a failing steel company for a $100,000 contract for her company and they end up learning so much about each other, help each other grow, and of course fall in love. Steamy love scenes but more importantly a real emotional read. The characters were so real with real shortcomings but they definitely redeem themselves in the ending. I highly recommend this book and I'm going to look for more of Cathy Yardley books.

Sexy, entertaining read

I'm currently writing a novel for Harlequin's Blaze catalogue, and so I've decided to familiarize myself with said catalogue by reading its installments. Cathy Yardley's Working It is a fun, romantic romp about a go-getter PR agent and her reluctant client. Jade Morrow wants to land a promotion, and the only way to achieve that is by helping Drew Robson's troubled company. However, Drew isn't keen with the aforementioned idea. Sexual tension rises during a road trip, and Jade gets more than she bargains for with Drew. What I like about this romance line is that it is as feisty and provocative as it is fun and romantic. Perfect for sheer romantic escapism! Also, Cathy Yardley is a wonderful contemporary romance writer. I liked L.A. Woman, her Red Dress Ink offering, and I also like this one. And I love Blaze. I look forward to reading more books from this series.

Fun read

Jade Morrow is an up and coming public relations wiz at Michaels and Associates. She's the gal the firm turns to on tough accounts. The problem is she just can't seem to win that promotion to the Account Supervisor. Drew Robson has taken over the family steel mill after his father ran off with $1 million of the company's money. Drew is struggling to keep the mill afloat because it is the major employer in town. Before his father ran off, he signed a $100,000 contract with Michaels and Associates. Drew does not need PR when his company's about to go under so he's trying to renege on the contract and it's Jades job to make him honor it. Jade's boss promises her the promotion she's been working for if she succeeds.Realizing that the best way to get the money out of Drew is to teach him sales techniques so he can get business for the mill and also land a major investor for backing, Jade sets out to become Drew's sales coach. The two embark on a three-week sales trip. Drew believes that there isn't anything that Jade can teach him so he has a lousy attitude. Jade is determined to help Drew learn the skills he needs to save the steel mill. Jade works hard to show Drew that her techniques will work and before long he's winning sales. The relationship between the two, although physically attracted from the start, soon turns deeper. The sex scenes are HOT.

fun romantic war

The execs at public relations firm Michaels and Associates have written off the steel mill account for two reasons. The former steel mill CEO, who signed the contract with them, fled the country after embezzling funds. His replacement as CEO of the steel firm, his son Drew Robson fails to see how Michaels and Associates can help save the company from bankruptcy.Jade Morrow wants a promotion at the PR company, but feels she needs an opportunity to prove her worth via salvaging a written off client. She persuades Drew, with a bit of blackmail, to honor his beach relaxing father's contract. Drew and Jade begin a three-week road show to save his company, but neither one expected the other to steal their respective heart. Why Jade felt she could obtain her promotion by gaining more business from a nearly failed company with a small account and hostile boss seems off for this intelligent person. Still, fans will enjoy the battle inside the bedroom, the boardroom, and the steel room between the lead couple. The story line is fun to follow due especially to the bitter Drew, feeling like a betrayed mugging victim, now reeling as his heat is under assault. Jade is a strong woman who knows what she wants and goes out to get it. Together they provide readers with a good time.Harriet Klausner
