Wonderful Tonight is a page turner!

When truths are all glossed over in autobiography it loses it's appeal to the reader. Pattie laid out the good, the bad, and the ugly. I admire her courage and honesty. I really enjoyed the book....and I hope she is leading a wonderful life today!

I always envied Pattie Boyd - not anymore...

Pattie Boyd married two of my very favorite musicians and I always thought she led a charmed life. Wow, was I wrong... I try to never read biographies of my favorite people just for this very reason - reality never lives up to my dreams. Although I am reading slow hands' autobiography just to get his perspective. I thought the book was very understated and found myself wondering what were the truly awful things she wasn't telling us. One thing I did learn is Pattie Boyd is a survivor and I wish her well.

Music Fans and Women Going/Gone Thru Divorce Will Appreciate The Book

I initially bought this book as a rock music fan. I'm in the radio business and have long loathed groupies. I was pleased to discover she was not a groupie, simply a beautiful woman with incredibly great opportunities to be part of such an incredible rock & roll scene. I am also a woman who has gone through one divorce and remarried, so reading that whole portion of her life was quite fascinating. My first husband was also an alcoholic. I do believe Patti also was (maybe is) and didn't quite realize it. Not only was she an enabler, she was right there with everyone drinking. Regardless, her story is fascinating. What qualities did she possess to not only attract such incredible musicians but make them want to marry her? Though the story on Claptons proposal is quite shocking. Still...it's all very interesting to me. This book is a good read for women in abusive relationships. It's an entertaining story with an underlying message not to take it - to get out - and you'll be happier. It took her a long time to learn that lesson and it's great she's sharing her story. It's also sad the regrets she has about George. I can't help but wonder if her feeling of regret really started after his death. It's easy to remember only the good times. Regardless, she has had quite a journey and it's great to hear about all of the stories in this book. I'm now curious about Claptons' book. I would like to read his perspective of their relationship.

Beautiful Tone

What I enjoyed most about this book is its tone: delicate, feminine, modest, and a bit spiritual. Reading it I could easily see why Pattie Boyd became a muse to two of the most successful rock stars of all time. For years I have heard of Pattie Boyd. She's left a trail of glamour, what with her famous marriages, modeling career, and fabulous looks. Being American and a bit too young to have followed the Beatles (aside from buying their 45s when I was in elementary school), I knew very little about Ms. Boyd except snippets here and there, which were always intriguing and somehow made her out to be the most fabulous of the Beatles' wives. But then I saw her promoting her autobiography in an interview and was struck by her aura of spirituality. I made a point to nab that book. The book was a quick and enjoyable read, really detailing so much of the '60s social movements that I wanted to understand. What struck me though was that Ms. Boyd was almost cursed by her relationships to rock stars who, while affording her some of the most extraordinary experiences on earth, also stole a bit of her soul and confidence in the process. I appreciate the author's honesty and feel that her true magic, her appeal for powerful and creative men, has shone through in WONDERFUL TONIGHT. I also have a better understanding that a seemingly glamorous life also has its painfully dark side. Bravo, Ms. Boyd!
