In Women Create, Ruch celebrates the marvelous creativity of the women she knows, women who are well known, and women throughout history. There are quotes from writers, artists, actors and playwrites, as well as from scientists, judges, women in politics and everyday women and many more. When I read a book that I like, I often underline quotes that spark my imagination or have a wonderful use of language. My copy of Women Create has almost every page marked. This is a book I will read more than once, and use to boost my efforts when I feel I have lost my creative spark. Women Create is not so much a "how to" book then a cheerleader for the reader, urging her to listen to those creative musings and sparks of imagination. Ruch rightly points out that any endeavor that a woman undertakes can be enhanced by a woman's creative forces. She identifies several areas not traditionally considered when talking about creativity such as friendships and leadership positions. Always think outside the box. One of the overriding themes of this book is that there is a great deal of joy in creativity.
