Kay Soder-Alderfer presents 20 honest interviews with people of all ages who have experienced devastating grief. From a son whose life was shattered by his mother's suicide to a small town forever... This description may be from another edition of this product.
The twenty grief survivors who shared their stories in this book helped me to have hope that I would also survive the death of my mother and my oldest son who were killed in an automobile accident. It is so evident that the author cares so much. I recommend this book highly.

As this book's editor, I just wanted to say how gratifying it is to come here and learn how deeply this book has touched people's lives. Kay truly is a remarkable counselor, with a genuine heart for people who are hurting. (It's also gratifying to see that it can still reach its audience, even though the small publishing house that developed it---Lion---has been bought out of existence.)
Like compassion packed in a book.

I have read many books on grief to help me face my own losses, but his book was of special help. It is easy to read, easy to understand, and like a gentle hand holding yours through your grieving. It is especially sensitive and inclusive of many people and their various journeys through grief.
For practical and caring help, this book is the best!

It is hard to get through grief, and to try to get your friends and others to understand what you are going through. "With Those Who Grieve" helped me through one of the hardest losses of my life. It was as if the author sat and heard every word I wished I had been able to say. What a gift this book is from the heart of a compassionate author
She told my story when no one would listen.

I'm 13, and nobody listened to me when my friend, Danny died.Dr. Kay listens. She doesn't say how you should feel. she justlistens, and smiles, and cries with you until you feel better. It takes time. If you have a friend die and don't have people to listen to you, read this book. It might make you feel sad, but i think maybe you will also know that some adults do listen and care. My story about my friend is in here. Read this book!l It will probably help you feel better,
