Sin entered the world by Adam and Eve when they disobeyed God and separated us from communion with Him. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23.) The promise, God's only Son, Jesus Christ would pay that debt by dying for our sins on the cross and on the third day rise to life again. There are many promises which God has given to man. In His promises, God also established consequences. Before Adam ever sinned, God gave him one command. "But you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die." (Genesis2:17). God promised it and it happened. In His perfect plan, God gave us hope and a promise to break that curse of sin and death through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God's unwavering love through the provisions of His promises demonstrates the depths of His love. Man makes the choice to accept or reject those promises. By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we die to sin with Christ and are raised to eternal life with Him. But the consequence of rejecting this promise is to live with our own sin through all eternity, separated from God. The poetry in this book demonstrates the perfect love God has for man. So much so, that He gave us the freedom to choose our own destiny. I pray these poems will bless you and encourage you as to read them, meditate on God's profound gifts. The choice is yours. may you be richly blessed, in Jesus' name, Amen
