Brad told me to brace myself as he had some unsettling news. The airline had announced another round of layoffs and the cut was deep. Brad tried to sound reassuring, but I could tell that he was worried. As I lay wrapped up in his arms and he finally drifted off to sleep, I thought about the possible things to come. I finally fell asleep, thinking and praying, as usual, that things would work out for the best.
