They say that the eyes are the window of the soul but I think it is more accurate to say that the mind and thoughts are the windows. The mind fires off images that can't be denied or hidden. Sometimes these images change the way we thought before or how we consider things. I write poems that I hope challenge the reader and raise questions or help them remember images and ideas.I have written poetry since I was in 4th grade but I used to desperately need them to rhyme so much so, that I would tear them up and throw them away if I couldn't get them just so. Now, older, I realize that content has to be the most important part of a poem. Some of mine still rhyme but most do not. Most are blank verse and I like to end the lines oddly for the pause that, I believe, makes the reader reconsider the words.I do hope you get some pleasure at reading my poems.
