Wild Enough for Willa

I really enjoyed this book, a page turner for me. I thought the situations were true to life and the story was interesting. I liked the way the mystery of the love story was kept a mystery right up to the end of the book. I was so interested in what was happening I wanted to have another chapter. Another best seller for Ann Major.

Page Turner

In Wild Enough for Willa, Ann Major has given her heroine Willa a quirky and fascinating personality. Raised by a Madam, and betrayed by the father of her baby, Willa survives with and without the help of the hero Luke McKade. The conflict and chemistry between Willa and Luke is very powerful. This in one of those books where you wonder what these characters are doing now.

exciting tale, great characters, lots of tension

Luke McKade is rich and powerful, but he has woman trouble. So, the last thing he needs is a woman. He also has family problems. Willa de Mello is in a jam too with no easy way out. From the minute they meet, sparks fly between Luke and Willa and they are soon caught up in a tense, complex tale frought with danger, chaos and mystery. This story cleverly combines original characters and unusual settings. The language gets a little salty at times, but all in all, I loved this book. The characters are just so vibrant and the sex scenes are hot.

Excellent, but different!

The characters are really fun. This is a fast sensual read about a girl with a past who longs to be respectable. Naturally, two men, one good and one bad want her for reasons that have nothing to do with respectabilty. Willa has a quirky personality and makes some mistakes she regrets. First she gets pregnant by a man who isn't at all what she believed him to be. When Luke McKade saves her and her unborn child from this man, Luke is both too tough and too ardent, so Willa distrusts her attraction for him and rejects his improper proposition. Instead she marries his younger, legitmate brother who hates him. Little Red is ill, but unlike Luke, his more handsome brother, he needs a nurse, so he offers her marriage and a home for her little boy. When Little Red dies, he leaves her a house but no land or money. The night Willa's sisters-in-law have written a check to buy Willa out, a plane crashes on the family's ranch. When Willa goes outside to help the passengers, she finds suitcases filled with a fortune in cash. The money represents a new life for her and her son. As she is hiding the money, she is discovered in the act by Luke McKade, who seduces her. Distrustful of him and of her attraction, she bests him, and rehides the money. But when bad people come after the money and endanger McKade, it is Willa's turn to rescue him. The rest of the story is about McKade trying to protect her, overcoming his own tragic past, learning to respect her, about them falling in love, and about both of them winning over some cantankerous but humorous in-laws. I loved the characters. At times this book is funny and sexy, but it also has its dark moments and some real suspense. I enjoyed it.

Great storytelling

In Austin, Texas computer genius Luke McKade blames himself for the recent automobile accident that killed his estranged wife and unborn child. Although not in the vehicle, Luke drove his spouse to take the turn too fast with his scorn and disbelief that she loved him. So when his enemy Brandon Baines tells him that his half brother Little Red Longworth is out of jail and planning to kill both of them, Luke heads to Mexico to confront his sibling. While there, Luke meets Willa de Mello, Brandon's abandoned girlfriend. He rescues her, but thinks she is a hooker. Though attracted to Luke, Willa rejects him for Little Red's out-of-nowhere offer of marriage. Four years later, Little Red dies from cancer. Luke still wants Willa, but although she loves him, she still repudiates his advances. Now he chases after her as she has absconded with a million dollars. Still he believes he and Willa are INSEPARABLE.WILD ENOUGH FOR WILL is a contemporary Texas romance that readers will enjoy. Willa is a powerful heroine trying to keep her and her four-year-old son safe. Luke suffers from demons, but the audience will have problems understanding his attitude after observing Willa's tender caring for Little Red, his father, and her son. Ann Major has written a powerful tale that shows why she has been a fan favorite for years.Harriet Klausner
