- Grant Parish Courthouse in Colfax, Louisiana, site of the massacre of dozens of Black men
- Beaufort Naval Hospital in South Carolina, location of a January 1, 1863 meeting where formerly enslaved soldiers urged a large crowd to fight for complete freedom and equality.
