I loved this book! Though a quite easy read, it was also hilarious and had me spitting my wine out with laughter at multiple points. If you are a mother who likes wine, satire, and doesn’t take yourself too seriously than I highly recommend this book. That being said, if you do take yourself serious, don’t get satire, or are easily offended; maybe skip this one. She makes multiple stabs at quinoa muffin forcing, sancti-mummies. Regardless though, the overall theme of the book (once you get there) is that regardless of feeling judged by these mummies, they also feel judged by the other mummies, and maybe we are all just doing the best we can; no way is really the right way. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about the stereotypes in this book, of which there are many. I for one, love them. Just because something is a stereotype, doesn’t make it untrue. Ellen was me in so many ways, except that I am a stay at home mother, not a working mom. I drink, I judge, I yell, my husband works a lot and doesn’t necessarily pay as much attention as I would like, I don’t ever feel like I have my life in order, and the stereotypical main character who portrays this in the books is exactly what I needed to read in order to realize that I am not as alone as I often feel.
