In my opinion, this is a great book for people with little or no medical knowledge, especially parents of asthmatic children. This book is concise yet easy to read with all the necessary information to understand asthma without confusing medical jargon. It's what my wife and I needed to know about asthma.

As a health care professional who encounters many asthmatics in acute attacks, I encourage anyone affected by asthma to read this book. Dr. Sorenson clearly, concretely, and thoroughly explains to non-health care professionals the pathophysiology involved in asthma as well as the current treatment for this disease. I would recommend this book especially for parents of asthmatic children or for older children who wish to understand how to prevent and treat asthma attacks. I believe the best way to manage a disease is to learn everything one can about the disease so they may live as though they do not have it. Use this book as a tool to learning about asthma.

As a parent of a young child with some asthma type symptoms, this book was so informative! It gave me quick insight into the disease and the treatment options available. The question/answer section was also a helpful addition.
