Hank Holiday, by turns a Latter-day Saint (and an Ain't), was bedeviled by two failed marriages, and then semi-saved by June, his third wife, who then died of breast cancer, leaving him to his own oddly believing Mormon devices, which are semi-faith-promoting at best. His poetic ruminations range from his Pasadena beginnings to his life in Utah, his and June's missions, and on to his contrarian Mormon theology, starring Dog, who has trouble managing his bazillions of worlds filled with Mom Dogs, First Pup, Bad Pup, and crazy puppies like Hank.
