Don't be afraid to see the small town America YOU helped create.

I loved this book. Don't give credence to the negative reviews. This is experienced through the eyes of people living in a world most will never comprehend, mostly by choice. The characters ring true bc I have met and know people just like this. Some ruthless. Some wanting nothing more than a reprieve from the gutter they were born in. Should have won the Edgar.

Not a single redeeming quality

Profanity laced, depression filled angst that won all these awards? I don't get it and wish I had not gotten it.

Underdeveloped

Not enough character development to feel for any of the characters. I struggled through this one. The romantic relationship felt like an afterthought.
