exquisite illustrations

Rhyming quatrains describe a rabbit family's sweet bedtime routine with their three little bunnies: helping them clean up their room, visiting with them after dinner, helping them take a bath and brush their teeth, and reading them a story. The opening rhyme says, "When the world /Is ready for bed, The sky grows dark, The sun glows red. A lovely double spread shows the mother rabbit standing outside her home, waving to her bunnies as in the background some cows graze under a setting sun. Each brief rhyme sits in a double spread of its own. Father Rabbit says, "Let's talk about/The things you've done--All the laughter, All the fun" while the lovely watercolor shows him sitting comfortably on a couch between two of his bunnies while the third one tells a story: a bubble appears above the bunny's head that shows her chasing a cow. This is a charming bedtime story with exquisite illustrations that just exude calmness and contentment.

A warm bedtime story

I've been reading this book to my 2 year old daughter, and she just loves it. It's a picture book that follows a family of rabbits as they get ready for bed. They pick up their toys, and brush their teeth, and read books, and do all the other things most kids do before snuggling into their beds at night. I love the simplicity and the gentle flow of the words. It's an easy and enjoyable book to read. And the illustrations by Anna Currey are warm and comforting, blending well with the calm feeling the words evoke. I highly recommend this as a book to read aloud to preschoolers at bedtime. The first time I read it to my daughter, I ended up reading it three times because she kept wanting me to read it again!

sweet family book

This sweet picture book is all about a rabbit family as they wind down and get ready for bed. The rabbits have bedtime routines just like human children do. They pick up toys, read stories, say bedtime prayers and brush their teeth. The beautiful watercolor photos add so much life to the story. I was glad to see that the mom and the dad rabbit had a hand in the bedtime routine. I was also glad to see that prayer was important to the rabbit family! This is a great bedtime story for the whole family to snuggle up with.

A gentle book about bed time

This has to be one of the cutest books I've seen in a long time. The beautiful watercolor pictures along with the rhyming about the Bunnies and their bedtime rituals are sure to touch a small child's heart. The little rabbits have routines just like a small child. There are plenty of details both in the illustrations and rhyming story to discuss with your child. Bunnies brush their teeth and so does a child. Hugs are given to bunnies and you hug your child. Bunnies have a bedtime routine and so does your child. And of course, "tomorrows waiting, just for you."
