Good

When the War Is Over is a good book, and it is by Martha Attema. Well, it is one of my favorites. The story takes place in the years of World War II. It is about this teenager named Janke, and she lives in Netherlands. Janke works for the resistance, and one day she bumps into a German soldier named Helmut. Soon, she finds out that he isn't the average Nazi. Sparks actually fly between them, but Janke knows that she must keep her relationship with him a secret because of what her family, friends, and the resistance will think. The ending is very good, but I wish I could know more on what happened to Janke, and Helmut at the end. Anyways, it's a good book, so I suggest you read it.

When The War is Over: Worth The Time

When The War is Over, is a story about a sixteen year old named Janke, who lives in the Netherlands during World War 2. Being Fed up with the war, Janke and her friend Alie, get involved with the resistance. At first Janke has only small missions, delivering fake I.D cards, food stamps, and sometimes guns. Yet her missions soon start getting more dangerous, like transporting jewish people to safe houses. This whole time, Janke is falling in love for the young German Soldier, Helmut. At first reluctant to talk to him, she soon finds out he doesnt want to be in the war, and she finds herself enjoying their sunday meetings. Yet on a mission to destroy a bridge, Janke is caught and thrown into jail. Will Helmut betray his contry for Janke? I was a little dissapointed in the ending, i would have liked a little more closure, and what Janke did after the war was over, but none the less, it was a pleasant read, and i give it 4 Stars!

Love or Hate?

5 years of watching innocent people being killed by the heartless Germans,Jankie can't take it any more. Living in the Netherlands,Jankie decides to become part of Resistance along with her brother, father, and many other family friends. The Resistance is a group of people who hide Jews, and any other people whose lives are threatened by the awful Nazi's. In her little town, Jankie meets a young German soldier,Helmut, who doesn't seem to fit the stereotype of the awful people she has learned to hate with such anger in her heart. But their friendship will soon be tested when Jankie is on a mission away from home. She is caught, and her fate seems certain unless Helmut is willing to betray his contry for her........
