'What 's Your Body Telling You' is the perfect book for those of us 'Type A's' who wake-up each morning and hear the inner-chatter just warming up for a long, loud day ahead. Ta-da! Usually those voices are telling the same, old boring story. As Steve would say, "Oy, Vey!" This book will help stop the spinning mind and teach you to go deeper into your body so you can hear what really wants to be communicated. The tips and techniques are simple and explained well in a friendly, personal yet professional style. Steve Sisgold is the real deal. He's passionate about his work and it comes through in his books and CD's.

So many times we let our brains take over or our heart lead us in the wrong direction and end up regretting something, thinking, gee, I should have listened to my body. Finally, there's a book that teaches us how to do just that. Therapist and author Steve Sisgold will teach you how to discover ways to achieve Whole Body Consciousness -- a broadened state of mind that helps you see your fears and desires, then takes appropriate steps toward genuine fulfillment. Instead of just counseling the reader, which he does so genuinely, Sisgold takes you on his personal journey and others, giving real life examples how listening to your body can change your life. You'll find yourself often thinking, "That sounds like me" or "I know that I do that!" throughout the book. Whether it be in relationships or more success with your career, these exercises and stories will teach readers how to stop over-thinking and start trusting their natural instincts. Most leading experts teach us techniques with the mind, though, whereas Sisgold does just the opposite -- he shows you how to get out of your head and into your body. It makes the most sense, yet we've forgotten how to listen and trust our bodies and overthinking takes over. Well, ask yourself how that's been working for you over the years? Whatever you want to create in your life, this book will teach you how to move forward and erase self doubt and old patterns. I've already read the book twice and there are few pages that don't have something highlighted as a reminder for myself! Do yourself a life-changing favor and buy this book today.

Buy it just to read the chapter on Whole-Body Inquiry

Before I begin, I just want to say that I am not the self-help kinda person. I met Steve Sisgold and was impressed by his genuine warmth and personality and this prompted me the read the book. My favorite part of the book is the chapter titled Whole-Body Inquiry. This is a body scan of sorts. Start off with a BQ inquiry (a way to evaluate body intelligence), this will kick start a much deserved discovery of your body. Once you have taken the BQ test, you move on to a portion (this takes time, so reserve a lazy Sunday afternoon for this exercise and DON'T rush) called your Body Biography. The author writes "Review your body biography, and you bring conscious awareness to the secrets and wisdom stored there". I fully agree. I hope that you will enjoy reading this book as much as I did. The tips and tools provided are easy to follow, practical and immensely helpful!

Finally, a REAL self help book

Wow. I got an advance copy of this new book and, I'll tell you, it's like a breath of fresh air. The author writes like a regular guy... with something really valuable to communicate. This isn't on of those slick presentations that seem designed to impress readers with how brilliant the writer is, and get you to buy more books or come to expensive workshops. Steve Sisgold comes across like a friend, one you'd call when you needed someone who would really listen rather than just give you advice. The techniques in the book make sense and I'm starting to try them out. The whole idea of listening to your body and learning how to help yourself by interpreting the clues... it feels like I can become a detective in my life, using my own body as the mapping terrain. Cool concept. Anyway, I recommend the book whole heartedly to anyone, especially if you have been trying this and that over the years. Sisgold's book is a relief, I'm betting it will quickly gain a following which will grow steadily over the years. After all, we've got our bodies with us for the rest of our lives!
