Snoopy has a terrible nightmare that he is a sled dog and becomes uncivilized

This book is a bit different from the other books based on the Peanuts comic strip in that there is very little in the way of dialog; most of the message is transmitted via colored images. It begins with Charlie Brown trying to get Snoopy to pull a sled, a goal that remains unachieved, as Charlie becomes the lead dog. The problem is that Snoopy is too civilized, a point that Charlie makes clear. That night, when Snoopy drifts off to sleep, he has a nightmare that he is but one dog among a group of hardened and vicious sled dogs. At first, Snoopy is kept in terror, but eventually he asserts himself and becomes the lead dog, not through subterfuge but by becoming even nastier than the other dogs. When it appears that the dogs will be killed after breaking through the ice, Snoopy wakes up and drowns his sorrows with a massive ice cream sundae. While the messages in this book are presented in a manner different from most of the Charlie Brown books, it is still an enjoyable and quick read. Snoopy is the lead dog among all cartoon characters; he will always remain one of the best cartoon characters ever created.
Snoopy's nightmare

This cute little book (40 pages, excluding the title page and so forth) is another excellent example of the work of the incomparable Charles M. Schulz. In this book, Charlie Brown sets out to make a sled dog out of Snoopy, which ends in utter disaster. But, that night's meal of three pizzas, coupled with Charlie Brown's stories of sled dog life, produce a horrific nightmare for poor Snoopy. But, Snoopy is made out of tougher stuff than you might imagine... When I was a child, I absolutely loved the Peanuts, and I am so pleased that my own children have now fallen in love with those same funny characters. This book is large and attractive, with brightly colored pictures that are sure to please the young reader (and Peanuts fans of all ages)! My children and I highly recommend this book to you!
