A Book for Kids of All Ages

You don't have to be a child to be intrigued by the title and the cover of this book. A closer look quickly reveals a delightful devotional book for boys or girls who like critters of all kinds. I was absolutely fascinated with Bonnie's approach and the amount of research she put in this book in order to choose the characteristics of each animal she uses to teach a Biblical principle. After reading the book myself, I tested it with my nine-year-old grandson, who absolutely loved it and couldn't wait for his devotion at bedtime to read about another animal.It's 256 pages packed full of delightful reading for kids of all ages, the perfect gift for a birthday or Christmas. Stories are written in first person as each unusual animal tells his own story and ends with "God thought of everything when He created me." and only then do we find out who the story is really about. Stories are followed by an idea to share with a friend, a relevant Bible verse and a prayer. The author has included an index to help you go back and locate scriptures and animals that you especially liked. An added adventure is going online with these weird, wacky, strange and slimy animals [...] and learning more about God's wonderful world. This book is amazing--fun and funny! It should be on every child's bookshelf, ready to be read alone or in a family devotional setting. All ages will find it interesting and funny and will benefit from the spiritual insights the stories teach.

I will not limit it to 8-12 year olds because adults will also learn with the kids. The three index sections are perfect for quickly finding information. While looking at a picture of something that resembled chocolate ice cream cones, I found the name of that odd thing and it grows in my front flower bed! Finally I can identify it. Bonnie Bruno, has written each weird, wacky, strange and slimy thing as if it was talking. For instance, the octopus told me things about himself that I might never know except for hearing him speak in this amazing book. Scripture and prayer end each story as Brunno relates the story to God's word and our prayers. You AND your children will be enriched as you read and re-read this fantastic book. Buy it today!
