The little boy's story being the prequel following the protagonist in the first story) both experience severe lack of communication with society. In their attempts to overcome these obstacles, usually bureaucratic in nature, they face traumatic results. The protagonist in the first story (older) mistakingly receives a voodoo document issued officially through the government. The story follows his failed attempt to clarify said mistake to the officials responsible for processing such documents. The second story (prequel) is about a boy whom is incapable of using language in the common manner. His misunderstanding of the world around him is diagnosed as a physical malady. The form of the illustrations are meant to compliment the content of the narrative.
