Compelling Read !!!

Walking Rain by Susan Wade was a compelling read that had me swiftly turning the pages. Loved the characters !!!

I could not put it down!

This book was so good that I stayed up late, I got up early, and I had to sneak it into work! Form the start you get involved in the story, and the tension builds, and builds, and builds, and then finally, whew... it's not as bad as the main character, and hopefully you, thought it was. I can't wait for more by this author!

An all-nighter

I usually stick with authors I know but I really lucked out when I picked this book. The story keeps you guessing till the end and is full of suspense and mystery. You can't put it down after you start reading. I'll definetely buy anything else she writes!

Fabulous! When is her next book due out??

Once I started reading this book I was glued to it! The only disappointment?...It's the author's debut book - I am dying to get my hands on her next one - when will that be?? Buy it!! Buy it!! Buy it!! If you love modern mystery writers, you love a good dose of suspense and a touch of romance she's a must to have in your shopping cart!

Fast moving novel that never stopped surprising me

Susan Wade's bbok Walking Rain was a surprise to me from start to finish. I bought the book to read on a plane, but I found that when I returned home, I couldn't put it down until I finished. The writing is fast-paced, and the story holds your attention. The beleagured heroine is not fully introduced until the end of the book. Returning home to her grandfather's ranch, she is using her own name for the first time in years. She is obviously hiding from someone, but who? And why? Someone sends threatening letters and attempts to harm Amanda. While details of life on the ranch and beekeeping unfold, the mystery deepens and details of her past as the only surviving member of a murdered family are also revealed. Besides the riveting story, I enjoyed the background details about ranching in the southwest, beekeeping, living in downtown Houston, and throwing pots, none of which I know anything about. As the book goes on, gradually all the details of Amanda's past become clear, but not until the end of the book is it resolved whether her troubled past and present are the result of her own guilt, or of something else. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to the next one by this author!
