I live near Indiana, and recognize most of these woodland plants, but didn't know a fraction of the information offered here. Each page has one or two spring ephemerals along with the insects, birds or animals which pollinate them or help disperse the seeds. There is a short poem on that ephemeral, as we as beautiful illustrations of all the living things, each one of which is clearly labeled. If you live in Indiana or the surrounding states, you may want to have a copy of this book! I would add that small children may not sit through the reading of the whole book, but would certainly be interested in the pictures of the plants, insects, birds, animals and how they interact and help each other.
