As I have grown and evolved as a writer, I have found myself looking back at some of my earlier work with fresh eyes. Wake Drift has always been a story I cared about, but I knew its first incarnation had not quite become the book I wanted it to be. The heart of the story was there - Jack Harper, the Scarside, the crew, the mystery, the humour, and the danger - but the execution needed more time, more confidence, and a clearer sense of what this series was meant to become.

With this revised edition, I have taken the opportunity to revisit, rework, and reimagine Wake Drift into a sharper and more complete version of the story. Whether you are returning to The Broken Light Years universe or stepping aboard the Scarside for the first time, I hope you enjoy this reworked and reimagined edition.
