Voltaren belongs to a class of drugs known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)

Voltaren gel is used commonly to treat mild to moderate postoperative or post-traumatic pain, in particular when inflammation is present.

Diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication, is a component of Voltaren Gel (NSAID). Diclofenac reduces the body's production of chemicals that lead to inflammation and pain.

The treatment of osteoarthritis-related joint pain in the hands, wrists, elbows, knees, ankles, or feet with Voltaren Gel.

The treatment of arthritic pain elsewhere on the body may not be successful with Voltaren Gel.
