Virgin Promise by Kara Lennox Harlequin American Romance # 840 - August 2000 White enjoying a night out with her girlfriends, 26 year old Angela is forced to confess, after her friends have shared their stories of their first sexual experience, that she'd never had one. They're shocked that someone as beautiful and sensual as Angela could still be a virgin. So they decide to set her up to be swept off her feet. With Vic's partner in the hospital after an arrest gone wild, he agrees to take his place on a sort of blind date. The woman doesn't know it's a date, she thinks she's having car trouble and doesn't know that the car's been sabotaged by her well-meaning friends. Vic's role is to play the bad boy and sweep her off her feet. Vic hadn't expected the damsel in distress to be so beautiful, and he falls into the take-charge bad boy role in earnest. He really wants to get to know Angela better. Angela can't believe that she's instantly attracted to this stranger and allows him to help her and give her a ride home (on his motorcycle). The ride home ended in a very hot kiss and a promise for dinner the next night. Vic has a whole day to plan out his seduction, and when the dinner ends with them making love, Vic discovers that Angie was a virgin. He feels terrible that he went along with her friends setup date, and is afraid to tell her. So he plans to get to know her and promises to keep his hands off; only problem is, is that when they are together just the simplest of touches makes them both lose control. This was a wonderfully light read, filled with moments of fun that made me laugh out loud. I loved the struggle Vic and Angie had trying to stay apart. This is one to pack into the beach bag for an afternoon at the beach. Well done! It was fun, sexy and kept me reading to the last page.
A delightful book!

Kara Lennox has given us a wonderful story for her first Harlequin American--a dark, gorgeous hero sweeps a down-to-earth heroine right off her feet--and into his bed. Or was that onto a rooftop? This book is a bit sexier than most Harlequin Americans. I loved the interaction between the hero and heroine, who just couldn't seem to keep their hands off each other. I'm looking forward to Kara's next book!
Hot

Harlequin American has never been so sexy. New voice Kara Lennox has created a sexy romp. Vic Steadman (just a little symbolism in the name) may be steady, but he can be a bad boy as well--just the man beautiful virgin Angela Capria is looking for. Believe me, she's no angel--although Vic may think she is.It's a fun romance with just enough friends and family to make it real, but with the real fireworks reserved for the main characters.
Hot book--great writing

Angela Capria wants a steady, boring man--but her friends know better. They hook her up with a dark dangerous, sexy type. Vic Steadman can play dangerous and he's definitely sexy. But when Angela finds out he is a regular guy, is he out of there?Kara Lennox is an exciting fresh voice for Harlequin American. This is the hottest American I've read in years, but it still preserves the family and friends that make American distinct. I'm looking forward to more Kara Lennox titles.
