Vietnam Journal: A Small Town Editor Reports a Community's Experience

This work is about Vietnam and Vietnam-Era veterans of the the greater Crewe-Burkeville, Virginia area. This work contains period news reports published by Jim R. Eanes, founder, publisher and editor of The Crewe-Burkeville Journal, a rural weekly newspaper, during the height of the Vietnam war. It also contains interviews with veterans conducted after the war when many were willing to share their stories for publication. Issues of the newspaper were culled to develop rosters of over 600 names of Vietnam and Vietnam Era veterans. Rosters include names from Nottoway, Amelia, Lunenburg and Prince Edward Counties in Southside Virginia. Additional interviews were conducted by Greg Eanes, some of which were previously unpublished and are included in this work. Articles cover the Advisory period of Vietnam, the Johnson and Nixon years to post-war events.The work contains a Table of Contents, an Index, photographs and maps.
