The inflammation of the blood vessels in the body is referred to as vasculitis. Capillaries, blood vessels of medium size, and even large blood vessels like the aorta are all potential targets for the inflammatory disease vascularitis (the main blood vessel that leaves the heart).
Aneurysms are a risk for patients whose blood vessels become inflamed because this condition can cause the blood vessels to weaken and expand.
