Stanley G. Weinbaum (1902-1935) was an American science fiction writer whose brief but influential career reshaped the portrayal of alien life in the genre. Best known for A Martian Odyssey, Weinbaum introduced a new level of biological and psychological plausibility to extraterrestrial beings, moving science fiction beyond simplistic adversaries toward genuinely alien intelligences. Though he died young, his work remains foundational in the development of modern speculative fiction.
